JANAF in international associations

By its membership in numerous professional foreign and local associations JANAF Plc. endeavours to raise the level of social sensibility for socially responsible business both in the public and business community. Following that goal, in 2006 JANAF Plc. has become a member of the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development (original Croatian abbreviation: HR PSOR), belonging to the Regional Network of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Aimed at encouraging the regional cooperation between oil industries and government representatives, exchange of information, experts and equipment in case of emergency, as well as training of the members in accordance with the requirements of the International Maritime Organization, JANAF Plc. has also become a member of the Mediterranean Oil Industry Group (MOIG), and joined the Oil Pipelines Management Group within the Oil companies’ European association for environment, health and safety in refining and distribution (CONCAWE and OPMG).

One of the major segments comprising also an extremely important element of systematic monitoring and reporting within the international standardization of socially responsible business, is represented by JANAF Plc. joining the UN Global Compact in February 2007. Thus, following the objectives of applying and promoting the principles of business ethics in the areas of cooperation between business and other sectors, JANAF Plc. has committed to incorporate in its business operation ten prescribed principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
